UNESCO Programme in 2006

The Indian Heritage Cities Network launched as a UNESCO programme in 2006 with the endorsement of MOUD, Government of India and with the support of the French Government and ANVPAH-VSS (French Association of Cities and Regions of Art and History)

Establishment of Independent Indian Organization

IHCNF established as an independent Indian organization and registered as a Trust on 27th March 2009.

Support from Govt. of Karnataka

Government of Karnataka and Mysore it city Corporation came forward to provide requisite support to IHCNF to set up its Secreteriat in Karnataka

Memorandum of Understanding

MOU signed between the University of Mysore, Mysore City Corporation and IHCNF and officially the premises at No.3. Old Professors Quarters, Saraswathipuram was handed over to IHCNF for setting up its Secreteriat.

Partnership Status

UNESCO Paris accords partnership status to Indian Heritage Cities Network Foundation. Through this,UNESCO established an official cooperation with IHCNF in accordance with the Directives.

IHCNF Shifts to Bangalore

Secretariat of IHCNF shifts to Bangalore

Partnership agreement with UNESCO New Delhi

IHCNF signs a partnership agreement with UNESCO New Delhi for jointly handling various heritage activities in India Heritage Cities Development Network Society (HCDNS), sister organization IHCNF registered in November 2015

About

IHCNF got registered as a Trust on 27th March 2009 establishing it as an independent Indian organization. Its secretariat was initially set up in Mysore, Karnataka with the support of Government of Karnataka.
